Upon completion of a B.S. Degree in Business Management and Marketing from Arizona State University Alan embarked upon a successful sales career as the regional representative for Levi Strauss and Citizen Watch Companies. After building a strong foundation for Citizen Watch Company in the New Mexico and Colorado territories Alan decided it was time to return to Arizona to pursue new interests and spend more time with family and friends.
Alan found a passion for real estate in 1984 when he began working for new homebuilders as an onsite agent. His professionalism, respect for client-builder relationships, knowledge and sales volume earned him the highest honor awarded to an Arizona real estate agent. Selected by The National Association of Home Builders as The National Rookie Sales Person of the Year Alan began raising the bar on professionalism within the industry and moved on to be recognized as The Local Real Estate Salesperson of the Year. The award for Major Achievement for Merchandising Excellence for Salesperson of the Year was also received three times over.
Always looking to take his career to the next level Alan began sales, marketing and business development for custom homebuilders in the North Scottsdale Market in 1997. He became the exclusive representative for builders such as SBC Custom Homes, Jesse Hill Custom Homes, Standing Rock Custom Homes and LaBlonde Custom Homes. A thorough understanding of land value and knowledge of new home construction made Alan a highly regarded and most sought after realtor. His consumers were consistently satisfied as Alan helped them find the best land values and the residences that met their needs. Working for Coldwell Banker in 2004 Alan was awarded the Top Producer with an excess of $30,000,000 in volume that year.
In 2005 Alan once again had the opportunity to advance his career and improve client outcomes by becoming the managing partner of Distinctive Luxury Properties. Not only did he manage a small boutique real estate company, but also he continued to develop ongoing relationships with builders, investors, homebuyers and sellers. Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty acquired his company, Distinctive Luxury Properties in 2008. Alan has been with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty ever since and in early 2017 joined The Private Client Group, to offer a broader base of marketing services from both the Sotheby’s International brand and The Private Client Group.
Alan is currently certified in short sales and foreclosures and is a Real Estate Special Commissioner for Maricopa County Superior Courts. He is also the exclusive representative for MDL Law and Lawrence Law, handling all their short sale properties, distressed properties and Special Commissioner real estate transactions. A wealth of real estate knowledge and years of experience have given Alan the professional edge to bring buyers and sellers together for successful transactions. Being sensitive to client dreams and desires and finely tuned negotiation skills has saved his buyers many thousands of dollars along with maximizing his seller’s top prices. A solid commitment to both clients and builders has given Alan the highest honor, referrals. Over 75% of new business comes from satisfied customers!
Balance is important in our lives. When Alan isn’t fulfilling the dreams of the perfect home for a client he can be found enjoying snow and water skiing, scuba diving or competitive shooting with both his sons. He is a competitive extreme sports athlete and has raced in 14 Spartan Obstacle races.
Alan’s oldest son is the Chief Technical Officer for Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty developing new, cutting edge web and marketing based technology for the company. Alan enjoys spending most of his free time with his sons who, he believes, are his greatest asset.
